19th Agriges Annual Meeting and the future of sustainable agriculture

Agriges News

XIX Agriges Annual Meeting: a major international event through which Agriges closes the year and opens new perspectives for the future

With the XIX edition of its Annual Meeting, Agriges concludes the year with an event of extraordinary scope, capable of bringing together scientific knowledge, global strategy and the strength of an international community growing together. The meeting, held in Porto (Portugal), brought together over 50 professionals from Italy, Spain, Morocco, Argentina, Bolivia and Cuba, strengthening Agriges’ role as a benchmark in innovative biosolutions for modern, sustainable and regenerative agriculture.

A global team with a shared mission

Founded in 1988, Agriges develops and produces specialty fertilizers with a clear mission: to create innovative solutions that enable farmers to produce in a more sustainable, efficient and environmentally friendly way. By promoting biodiversity, optimizing resources and reducing pollutants, the company expresses a solid balance between agricultural tradition, scientific research and an ever-expanding international vision.
The production facility covering more than 12 hectares in San Salvatore Telesino (BN) makes it possible to serve global markets with increasingly advanced technologies. And it is precisely with the Annual Meeting that Agriges symbolically closes the year: a moment to align objectives, share results and renew the cohesion of a rapidly growing international team.
This XIX edition had a specific objective: to consolidate group ties and explore in depth the scientific and application potential of microorganisms, key players in the biological revolution that is redefining contemporary agriculture.

Porto and WOW – World of Wine: tradition, science and vision

The choice of Porto was not accidental. The city, rich in history, culture and innovation, perfectly reflects Agriges’ identity: strong roots and a constant drive toward the future.
The meeting took place in the prestigious cultural district WOW – World of Wine, a symbol of transformation and research. Here, the microbiology that gives life to the famous Port wine provides an ideal setting for discussing microbial ecosystems and regenerative agriculture.
The day was further enhanced by the presence of strategic partner ALTEI with Juan Pablo and Facundo Altamirano and Joel Pacheco Escobar. Their contribution, stemming from experience gained in Latin America, fostered a fruitful exchange that paves the way for new projects and global collaborations.

Regenerative agriculture, soil microbiology and the invisible technology of the future

Agriculture is undergoing a paradigm shift. The need to produce more with fewer resources, recognizing soil as a living and complex organism, is driving the development of biosolutions based on the action of beneficial microorganisms. Terms such as regenerative agriculture, soil microbiology, plant nutrition and beneficial microorganisms no longer belong to the future: they are an integral part of today’s productive reality, as illustrated by Dr. Marta Lopez Delgado.

Agriges positions itself precisely at the center of this transformation: the plant is not an isolated system, but a holobiont. Considering it in constant interaction with its microbiome is essential to increase productivity, resilience and stability.
In this context, Dr. Ayelen Yerba presented the potential of microorganisms as invisible allies, also showcasing two important meta-analyses. A global analysis based on over 100 studies demonstrated that microorganisms increase productivity by reducing biotic and abiotic stress, improving nutrient availability and optimizing their uptake. A second study highlighted that microbial consortia, i.e. combinations of multiple species, are even more effective than single microorganisms, making crops more uniform, stable and productive.
The message is clear: microorganisms are the invisible technology that will make sustainable, productive and regenerative agriculture possible.

Experimental results: scientific evidence at the service of the farmer

One of the most anticipated moments of the event was the presentation of the results of the trial conducted with CREA on the microbial consortium BacCover, registered by Agriges.

The data were extremely significant:
• Increase in fresh weight of the aerial part, concentration and total uptake of N and P.
• The inclusion of the BacCover consortium outperformed all control treatments, improving fresh and dry root weight, water content and potassium uptake.
• Increase in antioxidant compounds and greater activity of enzymes that detoxify reactive oxygen species (ROS), which are fundamental in responses to thermal and water stress.
• Complete recovery of treated plants after severe stress, while the control reached the permanent wilting point.
• In summary, BacCover does not only nourish: it prepares, protects and strengthens the plant, enabling superior performance even under difficult conditions.

Rebranding and new visual identity: a company that evolves

With a presentation by Dr. Sara Iannelli, Agriges unveiled the new catalogue, the restyling of packaging and labels, and the renewal of the entire visual identity. A project based on three pillars:
Strengthening brand identity and the seven product families.
• Improving the clarity of technical information.
• Adapting materials and labels to the most recent European regulations.
An evolution consistent with the company’s international growth and its positioning as a leader in biosolutions.

A special year-end, between values and shared vision

During the visit to the Porto Stock Exchange Palace, one participant commented:
“Everything is so special that they even open a palace to welcome us.”

The company President emphasized a fundamental concept: “Today Agriges is a family.” A statement that perfectly reflects the atmosphere of the meeting and the way the company chooses to close the year: with a great human, scientific and strategic event.

Looking to the future: new horizons for Agriges biotechnology

With the imminent start of large-scale microorganism production, Agriges is preparing to enter a phase of profound transformation. A transition founded on science, responsibility and the ability to translate research into real solutions for farmers.
Agriges thus closes the year already looking toward tomorrow, ready to consolidate its international role and to lead the spread of biosolutions that will make agriculture more resilient, efficient and sustainable.
We invite partners, collaborators and industry professionals to discover the new catalogue and to join us on this path of innovation.
