Wheat: the importance of good basal fertilization

Wheat: the importance of good basal fertilization

Agriges Press

Fertilization, especially of nitrogenous type, represents a fundamental agronomic aspect in determining the yields and technological quality of grains.

Wheat has characteristic sinusoidal absorption curves (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) with peaks in the intermediate/final phases of the cycle. That is why it is very important to correctly identify both the right periods when to apply the fertilizer and the specific types of fertilizer to be used in order to maximize its efficiency of use as well as avoiding wasting.

Basal dressing

To obtain maximum efficiency with basal dressing, it is necessary to provide, at this stage, fertilizers that are able to guarantee the slow release of nutrients, required in smaller quantities in the early stages of the cycle, when the root system is still poorly developed. This is especially fundamental for nitrogen, which, as the most important element for the wheat crop, is subject to wash-out and volatilization losses. For the basal dressing, Agriges offers four valid proposals among which you can choose according to your needs, all of them have been specially designed to maximize the efficiency of fertilization and consequently to eliminate waste.

The PETRO SPECIALE CEREALI Line

The organic fertilizers of the PETRO line are pelletised products obtained from high-quality raw materials and characterized by the RyZea production technology, to counteract losses of nutrients due to leaching.  The products in the PETRO line are based on highly humified organic matter, naturally matured in the company premises without the use of ovens or external heat sources. The catalogue includes a large number of formulations to choose from according to your specific needs (initial nutrient content of the soil, crop precession, seasonal weather trend, etc.). The special production process guarantees to achieve low humidity micro-pellets, which allow an excellent distribution through the fertilizer spreaders and do not create any dust lift-off problems.

In order to achieve a gradual release of nutrients naturally, Agriges has formulated all the products of the PETRO line with three different raw materials. Each of them is characterized by different mineralization times and, consequently, nutrient release, consisting in highly humified manure, vegetable matrices and animal proteins.

The particular composition of PETRO, therefore, guarantees a constant release of nutrients up to thirty-three weeks following the application of the product.

PETRO EVO NP 3-23

If, on the contrary, for basal dressing you want to intervene with a granular product, Agriges recommends PETRO EVO NP 3-23, an NP 3-23 fertilizer enriched with Calcium (18) and Sulphur (22), formulated in such a way as to release the nutrients in a gradual, controlled manner.

The main feature of the product is the presence of: the RyZea technology (a seaweed extract that is also present in the PETRO line), BPC technology (microbial consortium with microorganisms of the genus Bacillus spp. with biostimulating activity) and BBTP, in the form of a three layers that coats the granule.

The granules of PETRO EVO NP 3-23 are covered by a layer of BBTP, which is a protective coating of natural origin and lipid nature that regulates the release of nutrients to the soil. The latter has the features of a selective membrane, able to modulate the passage of nutrients and the nitrifying action of the enzymatic complexes of the soil, thereby "protecting" the nutrients contained in the granule from unwanted wash-out, leaching or volatilization phenomena.

The Micro-granular Line

For those equipped with a micro-granulator, Agriges recommends the GRAIN GO! micro-granular line for fertilization to be performed at the time of sowing.

The products of the GRAIN GO! line are also characterized by the presence of the two exclusive Agriges production technologies: BBTP, which allows the gradual release of nutrients, and RyZea, which conveys them to the plant.

The use of microorganular products guarantees numerous advantages, including:

- Localization of the micro-granule near the roots of the young seedling, with increased absorption of the nutritive elements.

- Reduced dosages for greater fertilization efficiency.

- Phosphorus entirely soluble and near the roots.

- “Starter Effect” on the young seedling.

- Cost sustainability.

- Convenience and ease of use, less manpower, logistical advantages.

- Sowing and fertilization in one step.

- Uniformity of distribution.

- 100% utilization coefficient.

Agries 2020 innovation: PETRO EVO BLACK 3-24

For the 2020 Agriges launches the new PETRO EVO BLACK 3-24 granular product with all the technological characteristics of the PETRO EVO line products, to which is added the P-TECH process technology.

The P-TECH process involves the coating of the granule, as well as with RyZea, BPC and BBTP technologies, characteristics of the PETRO EVO line, with a layer of humic substances that protect the phosphorus from retrogradation phenomena making it more available for the plant.

We thus obtain a product with an ideal composition for the basal fertilization of cereals, with a biostimulating action due to the presence of the RyZea algal technology and BPC microbial technology, which reduces nutrient losses thanks to the gradual release of nutrients guaranteed by the BBTP technology, and which increases by double the availability of phosphorus for plants thanks to the P-TECH process.
